Recently joined just to see interesting topics. I'm probably older than most members' grandparents. I've already experienced a lot of what you may have heard about in life but are still waiting for the experience. If you are interested in an opinion of an older guy about life's challenges, ask away. At this age, I don't expect to be around for long. Most of my family and friends have already shuffled off this rock.

Not to brag, but just to give you some sense of my future replies. I frequently take those IQ tests that show up on Youtube. I rarely miss a correct response to any of the posted questions and most often hit 100%.

Some of my replies may very well be different than you might expect and you are likely to find I may provide an answer you may not like. It is all still just one geezer's opinions. However, experience often tells a truth that you don't learn without the experience. That is why my user name is "tolja". Expect brutal honesty.

My most recent studies involve silver futures. I already have a significant holding of both gold and silver and have been studying the behind the scene details involving the astounding rise and fall in value that occurs by the minute 24 hours per day. I have learned how the frightening devaluation of "fiat currency" world wide has directly led to what is being called a life altering exchange of wealth over the next several months.

Not so much based on size anymore, but rather for my sharp and long term memories, I would guess an elephant even though I have lost more than 35% of my record high by weight. My own earliest long term memories go all the way back to age 2. I can close my eyes and relive details from then that have been confirmed as accurate by older adults who knew me from then.

What TV shows and movies do you enjoy watching? Given your high IQ do you prefer to watch documentaries?

Way back before 1995, my local TV cable provider offered "Broadcast Basic", which only connected to a half dozen local channels. It was more than enough for viewing news, documentaries and a few movies for entertainment, especially for the little time I spent watching. In 1995, they cancelled that low cost option. If I still wanted cable, I would have to subscribe to the next level which was more than 3 times the cost.

That was when I responded with there is nothing being broadcast that was worth the higher rate. I put my TV set on the curb for trash pickup and have never gone back.

I was already subscribed to an internet provider and began browsing internet content via computer. Google did not even exist at the time but i was able to find and view news programs, documentaries and a variety of entertainment links from around the globe. It is obviously much simpler to find new content now.

I still enjoy a wide range of news sources, documentaries and a variety of TV series and movies, particularly older clean productions. As for movies, I prefer comedies. I do not enjoy later shows that are full of obscene and violent content.

I have collected a wide range of recorded music from the 1600s to the latest download of the 1997 Grammy Award tunes. Probably a full third of my collection is "classical" music from before 1900 along with a collection from more than 50 countries and from each decade from 1920 to 1997. It is a complete blend based on the time of each presentation so the variation is endless. I spend more time listening to my music including while working over actually sitting and watching broadcast presentations. Even though it is set to play through my entire playlist before any repeats, I only hear each tune maybe 2 to 3 times in an entire year. I never listen to radio.
